Meghan's a star!

Meghan was featured in an article submitted in the Right to Life of Michigan newsletter entitled "Meghan's Journey." It's currently on the Right to Life website. You can read all about it by clicking on the website link www.rtl.org.

Meghan was also chosen to be featured in an insert titled "Sanctity of Human Life Sunday". What an honor! The insert was distributed in 100,000 church bulletins in January. The insert is shown on Meghan's home page. Click the icon of the insert to download a pdf file.

The University of Michigan Health Systems has redesigned their website and has chosen Meghan as one of their "featured patients" on the "Home Ventilator Clinic" section. This is a special honor for Meghan, as the Uof M Health System is recognized as a global leader and innovator in the home ventilator field, and Peds Home Ventilator Clinic is the model by which many other clinics and hospitals follow. This area of their website receives a large amount of traffic and is visited by physician's and patients worldwide. Meghan's story is located on their home page. About Meghan's website

Meghan's website is designed around the fun things in her bedroom; her favorite colors, stuffed animals and decorations. There are a few reasons behind the bright colors in her room. First, we chose two shades of purple because Meghan spends most of each day in this room and we wanted it to be fun! Also, purple is a color of royalty--Meghan is a princess, of course! The other colors complete the room and make it a warm, inviting environment.

The link buttons (to the left) are Meghan's favorite stuffed toys. These toys stay with Meghan and are used for therapy and for Meghan to hold.

  • The bear was given to Meghan after her first U of M Survival Flight. Meghan was given one pin each time she flew on U of M's Survival Flight--flights that saved Meghan's life. Meghan has flown more times on U of M's Survival Flight than any other individual in its 22 year history (four survival flights with U of M and one with St. Vincent's (of Toledo) "Life Flight".
  • The purple bunny was given to Meghan by her grandparents upon her first hospital stay. It's in her bed with her at all times! She loves to cuddle with her soft bunny!
  • The banana helps to position Meghan in her bed and has been one of Meghan's favorites toys!
  • The three stuffed animals were made especially by Meghan's two sisters and brother (Lauren, Michael and Shannon) to share with Meghan."

The background stripes are Meghan's curtains. One of her talented nurses, Jody, made a bed skirt to match too! The rose vine and purple squares are taken from a dresser that was beautifully hand painted by Ellen's friend, Grace Lucas. She also painted some shelves that hang in the room.
